What is One Verona, One Book? What is One Verona, One Book?
We are very excited to present this year's One Verona, One Book, A Boy Called Bat by Elana K. Arnold. One Verona, One book is a program designed to create a singular reading experience within a town community. We will ALL be reading the SAME BOOK at the SAME TIME! How exciting!! What do I have to do? Every family will receive a copy of A Boy Called Bat along with a reading schedule. Every night, parents are asked to read the scheduled chapter(s) to their children. The program is designed to be a read aloud experience for both emerging and fluent readers. Therefore, we ask all parents to read the book aloud with their children. For busy nights, listen to our special Verona teachers and administrators read aloud via the link above. Each day in school children will be immersed in common vocabulary, daily trivia, and cross curricular thinking and activities surrounding the themes within the book. Each night, a question will be posted on the blog link above. Students, parents, and staff members are invited to respond to each night's blog post. Please also check out the About the Book tab for more information about this wonderful story. Thank you to the Verona Education Association for purchasing a book for each family to keep and cherish. |
